What Is It?

The iCUBE™ is the most immersive VR system on the market, providing an uparalleled level of fidelity. It is available in several incarnations, utilizing four walls, five walls, or a completely immersive environment (six walls).

The iCUBE™ is a large-scale system, typically available in 9 ft or 10 ft (2.7m or 3m) cubic dimensions. The system can be designed specifically for the client's space.

The quality of immersion is very high. Graphical resolution can be selected from a low-cost 1024 x 767 system for low-resolution applications, to any resolution required. Each visual channel uses either two LCD, one CRT, or one DLP projector, and maintains very high-quality stereoscopic visualization.

Extremely Immersive, Completely Turnkey

The iCUBE™ is available in two standard configurations--the P4 and the P6.

The P4 is a 4-wall system (front, left and right channels, as well as a floor display channel).

The P6 is a 6-wall system (all screens in the cube are projected).

Both configurations integrate state-of-the-art technology from display systems, to high-end PC workstations, to intuitive software that contains a complete environment for modeling and simulation. From the ground up, Viz-Tek has designed a completely turnkey system, ready to be used from the time it is unpacked.

This type of system is typically used in the following fields:

  • Architecture: The immersive nature of the iCUBE™ lends itself to virtual walkthroughs of buildings and interiors. Experience

  • Scientific visualization:  Because of its room-type configuration, the iCUBE™ allows for real-time interactivity in many research arenas including biology, computer science, engineering, or any other discipline that involves complex data.

  • Oil and gas industry:  Manipulate large amounts of data and visualize both surface- and voxel-based models in a matter of seconds.

  • iCUBE™ to iCUBE™ communication: The various virtual walls of an iCUBE™ system can be taken apart and located in separate locations, allowing the virtual presence of people and things simultaneously in these different rooms. No additional technology is needed to achieve this.

  • Digital prototyping: Because of the real-time tracking achieved in the iCUBE, a user can create virtual prototypes of mechanisms, machines, and products in a functional manner. Add kinematics and physics, and it is as close to reality as possible.

  • Medical: This system is phenomenal for the visualization of bronchoscopy, laporoscopy, neurology, or even exploring anatomy. Tthis type of system has also been used in the study of neurological functions as various scenarios can be replicated while a subject is immersed in the environment.

  • Large screen demonstrations: Because iCUBE can open up to become a large Virtual Wall, it is perfect for large group demonstrations where to-scale products and systems can be visualized.

  • Police/Army training: target shooting, urban warfare simulation.

  • Research:
    a. Replicating scenes: whether for civil engineering studies or for the ultimate gaming experience. A four-wall system provides a 95% sense of immersion.
    b. Medical imaging and visualization
    c. Neurological / motor control / behavior

Computational Platform

Viz-Tek-configured workstations are rackmounted with the highest-quality clustered environments, providing a high output of polygons-per-second and texture mapping. High frame rates are achieved even with the most demanding applications or computationally-intensive simulations. Each channel provides ample power: our systems are configured with multiple CPUs per-channel, a large amount of RAM, and the most advanced image generators available.

iCUBE™ systems harness the power of NVIDIA Quadro Plex technology, delivering high throughput for interactive visualization of large models and high-performance simulation.

Unmatched VR Software

Perhaps one of the most important aspects of a virtual reality system is software. Software provides a method for integrating the hardware together, but also will be the limiting factor in how fast (or slow) you and your team would be able to develop new applications.

Viz-Tek provides the best-in-class software that enables you to develop the fastest applications, with ease and comfort, yet providing the most advanced capabilities of any VR system on the market today.

Accessories to Fit Your Needs

Every iCUBE™ system that we ship is compatible (out of the box) with a wide range of third-party accessories. Whether your requirements lie in motion trackers, haptic devices, or controllers, Viz-Tek's hardware is ready fulfill your turnkey needs.

Maintenance and Support

One year full warranty for all equipment. A 24/7 toll-free phone service with on-site service for computational equipment. Additional warranties are also available.

Installation and Training

Viz-Tek systems will be installed by our trained technicians at your location. Installation is part of the turnkey solution. Training is typically conducted on-site at your location, involving a 2-day training course on the hardware and software.
