Custom Simulation VR Systems Haptics

What Is Covered By "Haptics"?

The word "haptic" refers to the sense of touch; by definition, haptic technologies allow you to physically touch virtual or remote objects. Traditionally, haptic technologies encompass force-feedback systems and vibro/tactile interfaces, sometimes even thermal rendering.

Viz-Tek is proud to partner with industry leader Haption to bring you the finest in haptics solutions:

Haption systems are renowned for their stable behavior, low mass and inertia, frictionless mechanical transmission, periodic and steady position updates, and a high frequency control loop.

Where Are Haptics Used?

The applications of haptics in VR solutions are limited only by your own imagination. Wherever physical interaction takes place, haptics can greatly increase the realism of your simulation or training product. Some of the areas where haptics have routinely been used are:

- Manufacturing

  • Accessibility check
  • Posture validation
  • Feasibility of manual operations

- Maintenance

  • Define methods

- Haptics

  • More natural manipulation
  • Complex assembly manipulation
  • Non-visible parts

Operational Applications

There are three main types of operational applications of Haption products. These are: assembly and de-assembly (focusing on both manufacturing and maintenance), training operations, and ergonomics issues.
